Juan De La Mora
Born and raised in Marquette Park on Chicago’s Southwest Side, at the age of twelve Juan moved to the suburbs and discovered how much he missed the city. At eighteen he moved back to study architecture at the Illinois Institute of Technology, and at twenty-one moved again, this time to Madrid, Spain, to continue studying architecture at the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Madrid (ETSAM). At twenty-five he left school to pursue an artist residency in Montemor-o-Velho, Portugal, then at twenty-seven moved back to Chicago to finish up what he started. Now at thirty-two…
